When you finish your seminary education you are sent out on your first call. While you get a little taste of what it's like to be a pastor during vicarage, it's really just a taste. When you're placed in a congregation for the first time it's like being thrown into a lake or even the ocean. Are you going to sink or are you going to swim? Who do you turn to if you're struggling with an issue at church? In the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) there is a progam for new pastors called Post-Seminary Applied Learning and Support aka PALS. When we arrived in Denver we were promptly invited to join the Rocky Mountain District group. Our group was fabulous. We ladies became quite close. PALS is a 3-year program and we've been done for 3 or 4 years now. We've enjoyed each others' company so much that we've continued to get together once a year or so. We missed you this time, Colleen, but thank you for sending your little man for us to enjoy!
Another great thing about our group is that our children all get along so well. They actually loved going to PALS meetings.
I think a game is played every time we've gotten together. Monopoly seems to be a big hit. Quinton is the reigning champion, but opted out this time.
Jared and Bryan have upgraded from P90X to the Body Beast now. They are trying work off all the food they had for dinner.

That last picture is hilarious! We missed the PALS thing due to arriving late (apparently our district isn't as accommodating as yours). So awesome that you're still friends with your group. Carrie O. would be proud. :)
