Last summer we went to a splash park. The kids had a blast. The water on this little thing squirted out like a mushroom. The children would run underneath and stay dry believe it or not. It was a fun little game that they played. Check out some more Water entries at I Heart Faces.

Happy Father's Day to you all! My boys had just gotten their hair cut. I thought it would be a great time to get some updated portraits of them. They had other ideas. "Let's be as silly as we can and drive mom nuts!"  Boys will definitely be boys, right? Their personalties do shine in this photo though, so that's really all that matters in our crazy household. This week at I Heart Faces it's all about "Yellow". A gal at our church just opened a cute little bakery near our house. It's so cute and quaint. I could hang out there all day. With all the crazy storms we've been getting lately I was excited for a May Flowers theme this week at I Heart Faces! When Anna was born I tried to force her to take a pacifier so I could keep her quiet during church. Out all of my children she has been the only one who refuses to use a pacifier. She's a rebel. Instead she sucks on her bottom lip and rubs her soft and cuddly blanket. It just so happens that at I Heart Faces this week it's all about things that are "Soft and Sweet." We went to the Butterfly Pavilion last month. While there are all sorts of invertebrates there and not just butterflies, the butterflies are still my favorite thing about the Butterfly Pavilion. I could spend an entire day just watching the butterflies flutter around. They're so beautiful with all their colors not to  mention intriguing. I Heart Faces wants to see all of your pets this week! While our house is full of kids, there really aren't many pets in our house, so I'll just pretend that the butterflies are my pets. Aren't the colors just stunning on this butterfly? This week at I Heart Faces it's all about the wind. Right away I thought of this photo from this past fall. We were out cleaning up leaves with the leaf blower. Anna makes this face naturally when wind is blowing in her face. This face also appears with the use of a hair dryer or just plain wind from the outdoors. It's hilarious! The light that shines through our windows late in the afternoon is gorgeous. It's perfect for photography. I just love this shot with sun hitting Anna's hair. I also love how her eyes just kind of pop out from the brightness of everything else. It's "A Slice of Life" at I Heart Faces this week. This photo of Thomas definitely captures a little slice of our life these days. Hours upon hours are spent outside even if it's only 55 degrees outside (as it was the day this photo was shot). Obviously, Thomas is not concerned with winning any fashion awards, even when I told him that his shorts were on backwards, and he really, should only wear cowboy boots with pants. I am so late getting my entry in for I Heart Faces this week. I almost didn't enter at all, but then I saw that Jessica Claire was the judge, and well, I changed my mind. I LOVE her work. It's just so stunning. The things she does with light is amazing. I also have to admit that I love me some sun flare.  Sun Flare,  that is this week's theme! There something about it and the colors that it produces that I just love. Evening sun flare is my absolute favorite. This photo is from this past summer on our way to South Dakota. We stopped, at a park, just as the sun was going down. The busyness of little hands makes me melt. I love the story that their hands tell with every move that they make. It's adorable and you know that there is a reason for what they are doing. Anna and I like to look at ourselves in the mirror and make funny faces. Good times for sure. I had to take a few pics. Instagram has got to be my favorite iphone app for photography. David found some goofy glasses that made his eyes bug out. I think it just makes his smile all the better. He's our little goof ball. It's been awhile since I've participated in an I Heart Faces contest so why not start the new year off right, right? This week's contest is "Best Face Photo 2010."  Now out of the thousands of photos from this year how does one choose? It was a difficult decision, but I have to say this face on Anna is an absolute favorite of mine. She is in a stage where she loves to scrunch up her little button nose when she smiles. Living in a land locked state we haven't really made it to the beach this year.  We did make it to a little lake to go fishing during a family reunion in South Dakota.   It was quite entertaining to watch the 3 year olds figure out how to use a fishing pole together.   I don't think they were too successful, but they sure had fun!  Check out some more "Beach Fun" photos at I Heart Faces!
