Vote For My Top

Here are the two tops that I entered in a sewing contest. Could you all be so kind and vote for them? The tops are grouped in ten groups of ten. My tops are 2J AND 6J. I would really appreciate. The first round of voting goes through tomorrow (Tuesday) 11pm est. Then top ten tops make it to the final round for another vote at the end of the week! Thanks!

Spring Top Week!

I started going through my maternity clothes again and as I was looking through everything I noticed that a few shirts had holes in them or were thread bare. I guess after that many pregnancies things wear out. Not wanting to buy more clothes I decided to make a few tops with fabric I have lying around. As I was surfing some sewing blogs I noticed a little contest going on and decided to enter. I can't believe I got these done in time! These will probably be the only maternity pictures you will see of me, so enjoy them while it lasts. I had Rebecca take these photos with our old camera. (My camera was a little too heavy for her.)

For these tops I used Simplicity pattern number 4584. I have used this pattern before, however, I didn't necessarily care for the fit so I tweaked it. See below.
I absolutely love Jennifer Paganelli's fabrics. I used fabric from Mod Girls and the stripes is from her Girlfriends line. And look! They match the purses I made too. Can't go wrong there.

The top was a little loose and puffy, so I added some elastic shirring. I would probably make the shirring wider next time.
I always have a hard time getting straps to fit properly. I decided to make them adjustable by using strap slides and rings.
