I Heart Faces

This week's contest theme is "Laughter." I think one of the easiest things to do is make my kids laugh, even if they are in a bad mood. All we have to say is, "Don't smile." Soon that frown turns into a smile and then it turns into full on laughter. It's great! This photo is a few years old and it shows. I think I was just learning how to use my camera. I still love it. It makes me smile whenever I look at it.

Click on the button above to check out more contest entries at I Heart Faces. This week's judge is Ree Drummond... you know, The Pioneer Woman. I just love her. Her blog is such a hoot! Sometimes it makes me feel like I could live on a ranch or farm in the middle of nowhere. Yeah, right! That'll be the day.

Update: Oh, and the outfit? I've gotten some emails about that. I sewed it. The top is a pattern from Ottobre magazine. For the skirt I used Michael Miller's Sundae fabric. I just love it! Their fabric line is so fun!

Purses

Here are a couple of purses that I finished recently. I got the pattern from Ottobre Design. I just love that web site and their sewing magazines. They are the best. This purse was so easy to make. It only took about an hour to get the whole thing done. I may change it up a bit for the next time and add some pockets on the inside. The girls love these purses. They are a great size.

Booties Baby!

It has been way too long since I have sewn anything.  It seems when schoolwork is done, the house is cleaned, dinner is put away, I am too exhausted to start another project.  Well, thanks to my friend Lauren, who keeps sending me links to fabric and various sewing projects I couldn't stay away much longer.  Since it's been so long I decided to start small.  I wanted to start and finish something quickly.  I found the perfect thing to sew: baby shoes!!! Yay!  Now I think I am addicted.  I just want to sew these cute shoes all day.

I subscribe to an awesome pattern magazine called Ottobre Design.  They have the best patterns.  I love them all.  It's been great because it has patterns for kids of all ages which is perfect for our household.

These shoes are from a 2006 issue. Aren't they adorable?

These are pretty cute too!  They are from 2009.
