We Keep on Truckin'

June came and went just as quickly as this month of July is flying by. We finished up the boys' baseball season, 

made it to Krispy Kreme for free donuts,

celebrated 14 years of marriage,

played in the pool and drank Starbucks with friends,

attended our first Rockies' game of the season,

visited the library and received free book bags,

made  tractors, courtesy of Home Depot, at the foster care picnic,

while the older children attended the catechism retreat in Woodland Park, where they took archery lessons and learned about creation.

As we rounded out the end of the month we said farewell to Hope's vicar.

Now they return to Ft. Wayne for their last year at the seminary.

With baseball finished we needed something else to keep us busy, so the 6 youngest began swimming lessons.
After a crazy month, a little shopping therapy and girl time was quite welcome!

It's Still Summer

The neighborhood children started school on Monday. 

Our neighborhood pool became like a ghost town. 

We've had record-breaking heat around here lately. It's been in the upper-90s the last couple of days.

It's been too hot to play outside, however, if swimming is involved it's not too hot.

It was nap time, but we decided to go to the pool instead.

Our children got to enjoy not one, but two empty pools to themselves.

We have an adult swim the last 10 minutes of every hour. There weren't any adults around to swim, so Rebecca and Rachel were able to stay in the big pool.

If the weather stays this hot I think there will be a few more trips to the pool.
