If you love chocolate then these cupcakes were meant for you. All I can say is, "Wow!!"

Our friend, Gina, LOVES chocolate. We threw her a surprise party in December. Her birthday was on Christmas Eve, so this was an incredible surprise.

Her husband, Leon, occupied her for the morning while we invaded her house without her knowing we were there. We pulled it off flawlessly. She didn't have a clue.
Knowing that Gina loves chocolate I decided to make these Triple Chocolate Cupcakes. They were pretty chocolatey.

We begin with the cocoa powder. That's the base chocolate.

As with most things, butter makes everything better, right? So now we'll melt some butter and sugar together.

Once you get to mixing everything together you'll have a nice chocolate base for the cupcake.

Divide the batter evenly into your paper liners. You're loving this already, aren't you?

The second part of the Triple Chocolate Cupcake is a little ganache. Ganache is simple and fabulous at the same time.

It's just bittersweet chocolate and cream. Heat your cream in a saucepan and then pour it over your chocolate.

Stir it around and the chocolate will melt beautifully.

To speed up the hardening process place your bowl in the fridge, but don't forget to check on it and stir it occasionally. Soon you'll end up with this. It's a lovely ganache with which to work.

When your cupcakes have cooled cut the centers out of the cupcakes. Then fill them with a spoonful of ganache. AHHH!! All of this makes you want to make these right now, don't you?

Now you can put that little top piece back on or eat it. I've done both and it really doesn't detract from the cupcake either way, so if you have the willpower to replace that part you cut good for you. If not, no worries.

Obviously, when making a Triple Chocolate Cupcake you must have that third chocolate right? Well, then we must make chocolate frosting. We'll melt some chocolate for that.

Frost your cooled cupcakes and you'll have three different chocolates to play around with in your mouth!

Do you want to see what the inside looks like? Every bite is a chocolate party. It's fantastic for you chocolate lovers.

Enjoy!

This looks incredible! And you always ice your cupcakes so nicely. I am certainly one of those chocolate lovers, so this is going on my list of recipes to make...soon!
Do you have a cupcake corer? Those look yummy and I am glad she was surprised. Nice job!
Those look delicious and disgusting all at once! Chocolate overload! Happy birthday to Gina (a bit late). My mom would love these, and Sophia too. They're both chocolate addicts.
