In an effort to get rid of all the cereal in our home, which I've realized will never happen, I've been trying to figure out quick and easy breakfasts for everyone. My children love yogurt, but it can get expensive. They also love oatmeal, so Ifigured why not put the two together!
The ladies at church know I do a lot of canning, so they often bring me their old jars. This box of jars, however, was used when paraffin canning was a big thing. They have plastic snap-on lids instead of the lids with the screw bands, therefore making them useless for my canning, but perfect for this oatmeal yogurt!
It's a pretty simple recipe that I prepare the night before. I often make several and they last a few days. All you need is yogurt, regular oatmeal, and any kind of milk. We like almond milk around here.
Mix everything together. If your children want to help place the lid on the jars and let them shake away. My kids love shaking these jars and mixing everything.
Have your fruit diced and ready to go for the morning as well. I just use whatever is in season or on sale at the store. Today we happen to have blueberries, strawberries, and mango.
The children wake up in the morning excited to choose their own fruits for the their breakfast and you're happy because it was such an easy meal to prepare!

Wait. Don't you have six children? Who didn't get breakfast? No wonder you're the meanest mom ever. . . not feeding all the children.
Muesli!
