We've had some pretty crazy weather here lately. We wake up to sunshine and the temperatures reach the 90's, but by the late afternoon dark clouds begin rolling in and there's thunder. Then the rain comes. And it doesn't come lightly. Jared sent me this photo while he was trying to make his way back to church. Within minutes streets are flooded. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I guess Luke Bryan says it best.
Rain makes corn, corn makes whiskey
Whiskey makes my baby feel a little frisky
Back roads are boggin' up, my buddies pile up in my truck
We hunt our honeys down, we take 'em into town
Start washin' all our worries down the drain
Rain is a good thing
Whiskey makes my baby feel a little frisky
Back roads are boggin' up, my buddies pile up in my truck
We hunt our honeys down, we take 'em into town
Start washin' all our worries down the drain
Rain is a good thing
-Luke Bryan, Rain is a Good Thing
Today we had two decent storms. One in the early afternoon. And then this one came rolling in just after dinner.
Why not just sit down and build a dam? There's no need to worry about getting all wet. It already happened. I should have brought the soap and shampoo out for baths. What was I thinking?
This double rainbow appeared just when things were clearing up a bit. Now things are cooling down just in time to start all over again tomorrow. The forecast looks the same for the next couple of days. It should be lots of fun! I know our lawn and garden are enjoying this as long as they don't get flooded out.

Jon says- Those pictures so remind me of when I was a boy. With one exception. My dad wasn't out leading the charge. Way to go Jared. Teach your kids to 'feel' life and how good it is, now just sit around and observe someone else enjoying it. I sure liked the lyrics to the song, Jan. Makes me want to grab a beer, Gail and jump in the F-150.
I think Dad meant "not" sit around instead of "now" sit around. But I agree. Those are great shots of Jared and the kids.
How did your plants fare with all the rain? Did they float away?
