Sunday, my friend Colleen, hosted a swap party at her house. It was so fun! And to think that I almost didn't go. Snow started coming down heavily just as I was leaving. When I left my house it was hardly visible outside. The street signs were covered with snow. It's a good thing I only live a few minutes away.
Colleen's friend, Katie made this super cute cake. "One Woman's Trash, Is Another One's Treasure." That was so true that day.
When I arrived, there were adorable signs throughout the house. Everyone sorted their things into the proper rooms and then we were off to shop.
There were mounds and mounds of clothes. This pile was nice and neat. Then a bunch of us ladies attacked it and it became a disaster.
There was everything from clothes to jewelry, makeup to housewares, and books to crafting supplies. You name it and it was probably there. I tried to pace myself. I went through once. Took a break. Ate some cake. Had some punch. Then I was back at it again.
I met some new people and made some new friends. Heather found my blog from Colleen's blog. She just had a baby. Isn't she cute? "Hi, Heather!"
I've met Emily and Karen before and it was so fun to chat it up and visit. It was really fun watching Karen try on some crazy outfits!
Here is one of my many outfits I acquired from the swap. (The white t-shirt and belt were not from the swap.) I came home with many t-shirts, a few tank tops, a pair of jeans, and even a cute gray skirt. Swap parties are the way to go when you're looking for something new and different, but don't want to go out and spend money. I may just have to host swap party of my own. It was so fun, if not for the clothes, but for the food and company too! I look forward to many more swaps in the future, right Colleen? :)

That sounds awesome! Next time Lauren and I come to Colorado, we'll get you and Kel and have our own swap party. Deal? Deal.
I think your pants are too long and you should give them to me :) That looks like it was really fun. I think you need to host the next one!
You made my swap party look so much cooler than it actually was!!!! I am SO SO SO glad that you came...my friends are in love with you! Who isn't?? Thank you so much for taking these gorgeous pictures!!!
How fun! I read about this on Colleen's blog, but forgot that you were in the same area. Perhaps, I need to host a swap, too!
It was exciting to meet you in person! Colleen was right - you ARE the next Pioneer Woman! Just look at your amazing recipes & photos...
I had fun chatting with you at the party. I put up a super cute picture of you and Reena:

Our whole church does this on a Saturday before school starts. Anything not swapped goes to a local thrift store.
