There is hardly a time when the Fienes come to our house that there isn’t a little drama. In most cases it is John not wanting to leave his friends and they end up carrying him out to the car crying. He absolutely loves his friends. It’s just the sweetest thing. We’ve gotten used to it by now and have almost come to expect it. We had planned to get a quick family photo before the Fienes took off for Texas, but there was an incident. Can you guess what it was? How many adults does it take to get a sliver out of a little boy’s foot? Poor John was running on our deck and got a sliver in his foot. It was quite painful and needed to be removed. Not having access to any anesthesia we had to hold him down in order to dig the sliver out. Hans kindly offered to let John bite his finger as Katie went in for the sliver. I have to say, and I’m not laughing, okay maybe I am just a little, that it was quite a site to witness. John and Hans are both yelling that it hurts at this point. After several minutes the sliver was successfully removed. Yay!Needless to say after that whole incident John was not really in the mood to have any pictures taken. I tried to console him. Do you think it worked? You’ll just have to wait and see. You know I couldn’t let the Fienes get away without a few pictures with us! Jared really likes your hat Hans.
So maybe he’ll just steal it and you can pick your nose. Check back later and maybe you’ll get to see their family photo. :)
