Beans

Beans4For me, winter is soup season. I love soup and it's even better if  can have it cooking all day long.

BeansAfter hearing so much about Mary Ann's Beans I finally got the chance to try one their soups when I finally got to meet Wendi, the owner and fellow Lutheran homeschooling mom who lives in Wyoming. Got all that? Good. Wendi and her family live on a cattle ranch in Wyoming where they raise cattle and sell their bean soups. Their girls are amazing. They even shot their own turkeys for Thanksgiving this past year.

Beans1Wendi was kind enough to share one of her bean soup mixes with us. This is it. Pretty simple right? One package is enough to serve your family.

Beans2Pour your beans into a small pot.

Beans3They aren't called Lots O' Beans for nothing. There are seventeen different beans. Aren't they beautiful? The easiest thing is to soak them overnight. Then stick them in a crockpot and let them cook all day. Just before serving add the spices from the included spice packet. Easy peasy.

Beans5Voila! Dinner is ready and it hardly too any effort. The soup has amazing flavor so give it a try. I can't wait to try some other soups!
