Makeup Mania
Katie, Marcia, and I finally made it to Makeup Mania. If you love makeup or if you even wear just a little bit this place is for you. If you aren’t in the Denver area you can check out their store online.
Makeup Mania is owned and operated by Eva who used to be a makeup artist in Hollywood. (She did makeup for the ladies in the Joy Luck Club movie.) She decided to get out of Hollywood, moved back to Colorado, and opened Makeup Mania. Halloween is HUGE for them. They spend hours and days making people up in their costumes. If you need makeup for your costumes next year this is the place to go.
Not only do they carry makeup, they have makeup accessories and a lot of skincare products as well.
Carissa has blogged about Makeup Mania quite a bit so we have all been excited to visit the store in person. It just so happened that the day we went Carissa was giving a makeup lesson there. She and Eva helped us pick out colors and we played with all the fun stuff!
Here’s my loot! These La Femme eye shadows are great and at $3.00 a pop you can’t go wrong! They are long wearing shadows. After a long day they haven’t budged off of my eyes. It doesn’t take much to get the color you are looking for either. It’s great!
I also picked up a little Graftobian Hi Def Foundation and I have to say this stuff rocks! It doesn’t take much and gives excellent coverage. I just apply with my awesome Beauty Blender and I get a nice even finish. It’s lightweight and long lasting as well.

It’s an 80’s Girl
Last week was a crazy week for us, thus there was very little blogging. I am hoping to catch up soon. We met up with my friend Carissa to help her out with a Halloween segment featured on Walmart’s website.
What are your kids going to be for Halloween? Are you a child of the 80s? If you were this costume might be great for your kids. Just dig up some of your old things and transform your daughter into a child of the 80s. It’s perfect and super easy.
Here’s the beautiful work Carissa did transforming Rebecca. Check out the entire video HERE. She has a great tutorial, and it doesn’t just have to be for kids. You too, can relive your childhood. She uses some really fun makeup.

It’s a Swap!
Last week my friend Carissa hosted a makeup swap at StudioWed! Are you getting married or know of someone who will be getting married soon? If you do, you should check this place out. It rocks! StudioWed has everything you are looking for in one place. It’s like a one stop shop.
Anyways, I dragged Katie out for a night on the town. We had such a great time. I wish we could do this every week.
Here’s a little sampling of some of the things up for the swap. There was a ton of stuff to choose from.
That’s Carissa in the middle. Melissa and Amy flew in from Boston to co-host. They are part of Swap.com. It’s the new thing these days, so check it out. It’s not just for makeup.
My Big Fat Cupcake provided the best, out of this world cupcakes for everyone. They were fantastic. If you are in the Denver area you should pick up a few cupcakes or hunt down their cupcake truck. You can never go wrong with champagne and cupcakes!
Not only were there cupcakes, but Eva, from Makeup Mania, was there giving makeup advice and doing makeovers, while brow expert Carla was shaping brows. Those were much needed services for me. ;)
Steubens food truck also stopped by to feed us all.
I had a green chile cheeseburger. It was quite tasty. It was perfectly cooked and the green chile added a great kick.
Steuben’s, so I’ve heard, is known for their gravy fries. I had to try them and they did not disappoint. Wow! If you like gravy, you’ll love these fries.
Makeup, champagne, cupcakes, burgers, fries, and great friends. What more could a girl ask for?
