Anyone For Tea?

Every spring the ladies at our church host a Mother/Daughter brunch.  Basically if you are a female you can come because you are someone’s mother or someone’s daughter.  Got that?Tea1We had a record number of ladies this year.  Being the last to arrive I can tell you that there were 92 mothers and daughters at our brunch. Tea2This year’s theme was ‘Anyone for Tea?’  At first my girls were really excited to attend this brunch.  Then Rachel said she didn’t want to go because she didn’t like tea.  We quickly changed her mind.  Ironically, I don’t think there was even any tea served. Tea3You can’t have a tea party without singing…. Tea4“I’m a little tea pot.” Tea5That’s right.  We all sang and the younger crowd performed. Tea6Then there was a “tea” presentation. Tea7It was interesting, but not to the younger babies.  They didn’t have much patience for that. Tea8Here’s Elizabeth’s partner in crime.  Adorable, right?  You’d never guess that she’s as grumpy as Elizabeth. Tea9I think everyone in attendance enjoyed each other’s company.Tea10These two had, had enough.  They found better things to do with their time, then talk about tea.  Tea11This is some of our youth.  Our future.  What do you think?  Sassy?  Trouble?  Or Sweet?  Angels?  I’ll let you decide.

Before it was time to go there were door prizes to give away.  That’s how I know how many people were at the brunch.  We all had numbers on our name tags. The younger girls got to draw all the numbers and read them out loud to everyone.  They loved helping.

Not only did we enjoy brunch with each other, but we got view all of the quilts that our ladies have been working on all year.  They get together every other Tuesday and sew these quilts.  There were even some that were knitted and crocheted.  At the last count there were 197 quilts.  All of them will be donated to various places everywhere!  I thought about swiping a quilt for myself, but I know for sure that they are all accounted for and they would notice if even one quilt went missing.  :)  We have some amazing ladies at our church.  It was so fun to see all these quilts.Quilt

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control.  Against such things there is no law.

What a fun outing. I LOVE the pictures of the quilts all laid out on the pews. They are absolutely beautiful and I love thinking about all the hours, cups of coffee, and conversations that went along with making those quilts.

Glad you had some self control there! :)

The quilts are beautiful. I love fellowshipping with my church family. And a project together, having a common goal, helps to bind hearts and hands.
