There's a Saying

IMG_3855. . . in Colorado: If you don't like the weather, just wait 10 minutes. It's kind of a true statement. The other day we woke up to the sun shining and the temperatures slowly rising. My Lutheran Stud informed me that "weather" was coming in. I didn't believe him. I took off to run and few errands. When I returned I noticed some dark clouds rolling in, so I decided to go on a short run, in case my Lutheran Stud was right. There's a trail around our neighborhood; actually there are trails all over the place. Anyway, the trail I decided to follow backs up to a million dollar home. From the looks of it they raise cattle, Longhorn cattle to be exact. It's a little strange to see cattle in the city, but I guess that's a Colorado thing, eh? At the bottom of the photo is a little creek. There has been no moisture around here and now the creek has dried up. But, just wait 10 minutes.
IMG_3864It wasn't even an hour after I returned from my run that big, wet snowflakes began falling. Out of nowhere, we were getting snow. I swear it was sunny and close to 60 degrees earlier in the day. It snowed into the night and when we woke up the next day the children were excited to see some powder. They begged to go sledding. Once school and chores were finished the boys did go sledding, though it was just sledding in the backyard. They used the stairs and bulit a little hill. That kept them busy until it was dark. A lot of the snow has since melted. When the sun shines in Colorado it shines bright. We enjoyed our little snow fall and the boys are hoping for some more to come. As for me, I think all of you who have the snow and the freezing cold temperatures can keep. I'll keep my sun around instead.

In the city?! Lady, you're in the burbs at best. Almost rural, where you live. Isn't that what Jared wants after all? ;-)

I've seen elk and deer near where we live, and there are also mountain lion sightings along the Highline Canal. Keepin' it wild in CO!

(And for a stupid moment I thought, "I can't believe Jan takes her Canon on her runs with her...she has a problem." lol.)
