Soup's On!

_MG_2741.jpgI love potoatoes! Who doesn't love potatoes? I love baked potatoes, french fries, potato chips, pretty much anything with potatoes in them, I will eat. When I came across this soup recipe I had to try it. Then, I changed a few things, probably making it more artery clogging. I added things like cream and extra bacon fat. You know, the good stuff. Let's chop up some potatoes shall we?
_MG_2751.jpgI forgot the step by step photos this time, but it's a pretty easy recipe. I put this all in th crock pot, so I wouldn't have to cook the potatoes first. Chop up a bunch of potatoes. Cook up some bacon and save the grease. You're going to use it later. Once you've got that done you're going to make that soupy part. :)
_MG_2742.jpgHuh? Yeah, he doesn't really fit into this post, does he? Well, he dared me. My dear husband gets a kick out of making fun of me while I am snapping pictures of food. I snapped this one of him and he dared me to "put that on your blog."  So here he is. Lovely, isn't he?

Okay, back to this awesome soup. Cook up your onions add the milk and cream. Then throw in some flour. Cook that up until it boils or thickens up quite a bit. Then throw everything in a crockpot and let everything simmer all day long. Yum! The flavors will just melt together and you'll have this fantastic soup.

I guess you could kind of call it a chowder. It's incredibly thick and creamy. Add cheese, sour cream, and my favorite, green chiles, for a little kick! Mmmm! Enjoy.

After reading about that monstrosity of a trial, I think I need a vat of this to calm my nerves. Wait. This qualifies as comfort food, right?

I know. I'm a poor writer. I need to work on my grammar.
