Jonathan

Jonathan
Today one of the most adorable little boys I know turns 8 years old in heaven.  While time passes here on earth I know my little boy is probably having a grand old time in heaven with our Lord Jesus. Though I wish with all my heart that he was here to celebrate with us I also rejoice in knowing he is safe in our Lord's arms. If you can't tell from the photo, Jonathan was pretty laid back. You could do almost anything to him, like stick and mashed potato container on his head, and he wouldn't get mad. In fact he enjoyed the attention of people laughing and smiling at him.

Back in the day we used to take our children to get their photos taken at the Picture People. Our friend Chad, a fellow seminarian used to work there so we would go in when he was working. Wink, wink! I was just playing around with Jonathan when Chad snapped this photo. It has become one of my favorites.

He was easy to please and make smile. What a ham! The Picture People was a great place. After Jonathan died they graciously gave us all of the negatives from every photo shoot we had there. We went in almost every month. I still have those negatives. I should probably have them converted or something. I scanned these old photos. That's why they look the way they do, but if you see them in print they are beautiful. Chad always did a fabulous job!

After our shoot with Chad we headed over to visit with Andrea and kids. I think Andrea must have taken this photo. It was definitely a hot and humid July day!
Happy Birthday Jonathan. We love you and miss you everyday.

We love and miss you too, Jonathan. I will never ever forgot your cheeks. They were the biggest, most smoochable chipmunk cheeks ever. And when I get to Heaven I will kiss them. A lot. You've been warned. :)

Love to you, Jan and Jared.

Jan,
You're in my prayers, especially today. I can't wait to smooch Jonathan's beautiful, fat, dough ball cheeks in heaven, where he is content, calm, and anxiously awaiting the arrival of the rest of you...and not just on Sunday during Communion!
Love,
Adriane

I'm sorry for your loss. But I can see that you are blessed with six other amazing children...
My son is turning two tomorrow. I don't know what I would do without him...
Sending my thoughts on his 8th birthday :)

That is the cutest little Kentucky Fried Chicken mashed potato eater I have ever had the honor of cuddling. Thanks for always sharing his sweet little twinkly, smilely face memory with us.
