Cupcakes

I have some pretty great friends that love sharing cooking sites with me. One friend sent me to this really cool blog about cupcakes. It's got some of the most amazing cupcakes I've ever seen and it also has recipes. I love trying new recipes, so I decided to try the Devil's Food Chocolate Cake cupcakes. Okay, so they didn't turn out as I had hoped and now I just want a cupcake. After this incident all I can think about are cupcakes. I just want to eat just one. I am thinking about going to the store and buying some, but that just wouldn't be the same.

I followed the recipe exactly and this is what happened. I might have to play around some more with it. For now I just blame it on living at high altitude. Whenever I cook or bake something and it doesn't turn out I blame it on the altitude. Works for me. I am pretty sure it has something to do with the baking soda or baking powder combination. Maybe I should just stick to making cookies. I have that recipe perfected!

Edible? I don't think so. The aroma of chocolate filled our house as they were baking. It smelled so good. We couldn't wait until the cupcakes were done. Then the smell turned to something burning. Hmmm...maybe it was the overflowing cupcakes sticking and burning to the oven walls.

I think she lives in San Fran- maybe it's an altitude thing??

My son just walked by and thought those were the cupcakes he tried to bake while I was visiting my parents! I'm not sure if he used a recipe I've used for edible cake since moving to WY or not though.

I have that exact same picture except mine were red velvet :) It is definately the altitude! I am sticking to cake mixes from now on.

Maybe you could send me your cookie recipe? I cannot find one for chocolate chip cookies that I like! I've tried like a million!

I'm pretty sure it is an altitude thing. I had to mess with my cookie recipe when I moved here.

Colleen,
I'll try and get you that recipe, however, I don't measure stuff. I just look at the consistency. :)
